An afternoon walk through Bologna’s beautiful porticoes

Bologna. Known as “La dotta”, “La grassa”, “La rossa”.

Famous for its gastronomy, its university, and the red color on most buildings.

On a very hot summer afternoon, we had the opportunity to discover Bologna in the shade! We walked along the innumerable beautiful porticoes of the capital of Emilia-Romagna in Italy. And we were amazed by the visual treat.

As we wondered about exploring Bologna in the blazing sun, the porticoes came to our rescue. The seemingly endless stretches of covered walking space helped us to discover the sights of the city center.

And what a spectacular sight the porticoes are! Varied colors, perfect symmetry, artistic effects… Click! Click! Click! Presenting our shots of this wonderful feature of Bologna. If you have a few hours to spare in Bologna, regardless of the weather, just take a stroll… (you can choose from about 38 kilometers of porticoes!)
